STMP is an IRS 501c3 non-profit charity founded by Vietnam veterans in 1986. Many of us were U.S. Army Special Forces (USSF) soldiers ("Green Berets") who lived with and led the Montagnard hill tribes against the communists during the Vietnam War. Other members fought with Cambodian, Cham, Vietnamese, Chinese Nung, and/or the Hmong hill tribe of the "Secret Army" in Laos.

The mission of Montagnard Human Rights Organization is to organize, promote, operate, and provide resources for programs intended to benefit the general welfare, and advance the rights of Montagnard people living in the United States and in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

Montagnard Foundation, Inc.'s overriding mission is to preserve the lives and the culture of the indigenous, Montagnard (DEGAR) people of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Its guiding strategy is to restore, safeguard, and monitor the innate and inalienable human rights of the Montagnards as described in the covenants and declarations of the United Nations. MFI pledges to accomplish its mission through peaceful, humanitarian, and non-military means in the spirit of international cooperation.
